Kids Summer Art Class

Kids Summer Art Class centered around the theme "Dream House"

Leading the Kids Summer Art workshop this past July was an exhilarating experience for me. The theme, Dream House, sparked a wave of creativity among the children. Each participant arrived with their own vision of what their dream room would look like, and it was a joy to watch as they translated those ideas onto paper.

As the kids began sketching their dream rooms, I moved around the classroom, offering encouragement and guidance. Some children envisioned bright, fantastical spaces filled with colors and whimsical furniture, while others opted for serene retreats with calming hues. Each piece was a unique reflection of their personalities and dreams.

One of the most exciting aspects came when we connected their individual drawings together. As their rooms started to merge into a vibrant neighborhood of dream houses, I guided them on how to think about shared spaces. We discussed how different rooms could connect, from cozy hallways to imaginative backyards. It was remarkable to see their collaborative spirit come alive, as they offered suggestions and made adjustments that tied everything together.

Throughout the workshop, laughter and conversation filled the air. The kids energized each other, building off one another’s ideas and enriching the project as they went. I felt a tremendous sense of satisfaction watching their excitement grow as they pieced their collective vision into a cohesive artwork.

By the end of the workshop, we had created a colorful tapestry of dream houses, each one telling a different story. It was a surreal moment when I stepped back to see the final piece—a visual celebration of imagination and friendship. Leading this workshop not only allowed me to share my passion for art but also to celebrate the creativity that exists in all of us, especially in kids. It was an experience I won’t soon forget.
